2022 Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum (TELC) and Development on Geothermal Industry Sub-forum were launched at Taiyuan and Datong on 1st - 2nd September.

Mr. Guo Xusheng, Director of National Geothermal Energy Center TC, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Deputy chief geologist of Sinopec Corp. and Director general of Sinopec Petroleum Exploration and Production Research Institute, Mr. Dang Liqiang, president of Sinopec Star, Mr. Guodianbin, Vice president of Sinopec Star attended the Forum.

“With the continuous advancement of China’s ecological civilization and the pooling efforts in air pollution control, green and low carbon has become the mainstay of energy development, and geothermal energy development embracing great momentum with huge potential. Shanxi Province is abundant in energy resources with geothermal energy large in reserve and centralized in location, and has made positive achievements in the development of geothermal energy.” Mr. Dang Liqiang pointed out. 

He also expressed that as a leading enterprise in the development of geothermal energy in China, Sinopec Star will give full play to the National Geothermal Energy Center, and with a open arms, work together with governments at all levels and key enterprises in geothermal industrial chain in Shanxi Province to fully support the high-quality development of geothermal industry, in a bid to support Shanxi Province to build a industrial and economic system featuring green development, and jointly write a new chapter in high-quality energy development in China.

The delegation led by Mr. Dang Liqiang also visited Datong Municipal People's Government, Shanxi Shuangliang Renewable Energy Industry Group Co., Ltd. and China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Engineering Co. and exchange ideas with their main leaders, while also made an on-site investigation at Sinopec Star Shuangliang Company.
