Since the successful conclusion of last World Geothermal Congress, the WGC2023 Organizing Committee has been working closely on preparation of WGC2023 with the support from WGC2023 Steering Committee and International Geothermal Association. So far the WGC2023 is still scheduled to be held on-site in China. But in view of the uncertainties of global covid-19 pandemic and international travel restrictions, the OC shall consider the possibilities to convene WGC2023 hybrid under the guidance of the SC and IGA, and will announce it in due course according to the regulations on the pandemic and international travel restrictions.

Considering the limited and hasty preparation time left for Call for abstracts brought by short interval between WGC2020+1 and WGC2023, the WGC2023 Technical Committee decided to extend the deadline of Call for Abstract from 24:00 31 March to 23:59 14 April 2022 UTC. We sincerely welcome friends from around the world who love geothermal to submit abstracts and participate in WGC2023!
